Tajvan évszázadok óta különböző gyarmatosító hatalmak befolyása alatt van. Hollandok, spanyolok, japánok, és manapság a Kínai Köztársaság – mind otthagyták a maguk lábnyomát a szigeten. Csak az őslakók azok, akik mindegyiket megtapasztalták. A kolonizáció különböző időszakaiban különböző neveket kaptak, és kultúrájuk megváltozott. A filmben egy truku törzsbeli öregember életén keresztül látjuk az őslakos újjászületési mozgalom történetét.

For hundreds of years, Taiwan has been under different colonial rules from the Dutch, the Spanish, the Japanese, and nowadays Republic of China, each regime left their footprints on this island. Only the indigenous people of this island experienced them all. They were given different names during different periods of colonisation and their cultures have been changed. Through the life of a Truku elder, we see the history of aboriginal recertification movement.

Su Hung-En

Su Hung-en Taiwanon született és a Shih Hsin egyetemen szerezte művészeti diplomáját rádió, televízió és film szakon. Su egy őslakó apa és tajvani anya gyermeke, és a karrierje során nagyon sokat segít neki ez a háttér, hogy mindkét nézőpontból képes legyen a világot szemlélni. A filmjeit a bennszülött emberek és a szociális problémák inspirálják.

Su Hung-En, born in Taiwan, received the MFA degree in film from Shih Hsin University in 2015 . He’s born to mixed aboriginal/Taiwanese parents. Constant switching between these two identities helps him to see this world from different perspectives. He has garnered awards for indigenous photographs and environmental short films. “The Mountain” is a 16mm film that supported by Indigenous Peoples Cultural Foundation. Recent film works are issues about indigenous people and social problems.
